One of my all time favorite things to do when it comes to my business is to create content.
I know, some of you might be thinking that I’m crazy! I talk to so many entrepreneurs who hate creating content and they find it overwhelming for their business.
I love content for a few reasons:
It’s a GREAT way to sell without feeling sleazy!
It’s a GREAT way to attract and engage your target audience!
It’s a GREAT way to convert clients!
Now, if you want to do all of those things, you’ll want to get used to creating content. Listen, I know that not everybody is going to love creating content like me. However, that doesn’t mean it has to be challenging, overwhelming or even time consuming.
Let me teach you how to easily create content for your business:
Step 1: Create a publishing strategy
First things first, I want you to identify how often you can show up and do it consistently. Just posting sporadically is simply not going to cut it. Whether it’s showing up once a week, three times per week or 6 times per week, decide what the number is that you can stick to and stick with it!
Step 2: Create content buckets
Now that you’ve made a commitment to show up, the easiest way to do it is to create content buckets. For example, if you decided that you are going to show up 3 times per week then you need 3 content types or “buckets'“. Make sure the buckets are based around who your target audience is AND what you offer as a business. Then use that to create your content types for each day of the week you plan to post.
Step 3: Go far, deep and wide with your content
Now, here’s the best part. When you create your content buckets you can now go deep, far and wide with the content! So many people think they need to create different content for every channel and platform, but that’s simply not true. When you create content think about how far and wide you can spread it and how deep you can go with it.
For example, this week I am talking about content. Now I’m taking that and going deep, far and wide with it by doing the following:
-Writing social media posts I share on my own social and in other Facebook groups
-Writing a blog post (this one) I share on my social, FB group, other FB groups
-Send the blog post to my email list
-Doing a FB live on this topic
See what I’m doing there? It’s not about creating more content, it’s about marketing it more to get a higher reach!
I really want to encourage you to shift your mindset from thinking creating content needs to be overwhelming or that you need a lot of it to just creating a few really solid pieces of content and then going far, deep and wide with them!
