How to Confidently Create Offerings that Sell

Owning your own business is one of the best things that you can do for yourself. The tricky part that a lot of women come up against when starting their business is knowing what to sell.

Listen, this IS a big question to ask yourself and to answer. After all, it’s how you’re going to be serving your clients. If you feel good about what you are selling then you will have the confidence to sell it.

Let’s help you create offerings that you can confidently sell:

START WITH YOUR WHY

I know you’ve heard this a million times before, but I really want you to ask yourself this question: why did you start this business? I don’t want you to get fancy or complicated with the answer. I just want you to simply answer why you want to do this. Why are you passionate about it? What sparked the idea? Why does this make you come alive? How is this fulfilling for you?

Your answer might be something like:

I want to help women lose weight so that they can be healthy and feel better about themselves.

I want to help businesses visually communicate their branding with quality design they love.

I want to assist business owners with tasks they don’t need to manage so that they can grow their business while having someone they trust on their team.

Whatever the answer looks like for you, write it down.

FOCUS ON THE WHAT

Now that you have your why, let’s move to the what. The question I want you to focus on now is “what do you want to help your clients accomplish?” In other words, what RESULT do you want people to obtain when they purchase from you.

Let me give you an example of this:

Why: I want to help women lose weight so that they can be healthy and feel better about themselves.

What: Help women lose weight and lead healthier lives

Again, we are keeping it simple and to the point because this will make it easier to market and sell your services. We don’t want to complicate this piece of your business.

THINK ABOUT THE HOW

Lastly, we’re going to talk about the how. This goes back to your expertise and how you know you can help others obtain the result that you want to deliver.

Look at your what and then ask yourself, how can I help them do this?

Here’s an example:

Why: I want to help women lose weight so that they can be healthy and feel better about themselves.

What: Help women lose weight and lead healthier lives

How: By creating customized meal plans and workout routines and providing accountability

CREATE THE OFFER

Now, you’re ready to create your offer. Take a look at your three sentences and ask yourself how you can best deliver this to your clients. I recommend creating anywhere from 1-3 offers (max) when starting out if you are . service based business because too many options create overwhelm and overwhelm leads to no sales. Start with 1-2 and then you’ll be able to grow from there.

The last thing I want to mention about creating your offer is that you don’t need to and shouldn’t overdo it. Often times people mistake how much something contains with quality, but the quality is in the value you deliver. If it takes 3 steps to deliver the result, focus around that. People don’t need more, they need the result. The faster and easier you can deliver that the more of an expert you’ll be viewed as.

If you are working on creating or selling offers one of the key components in doing that is your messaging. When your messaging is on point you’ll find it so much easier to monetize your vision.
