LESSON 6: CONTENT THAT CONVERTS
In lesson 2, we are going to dive into the topic of creating content that converts. There are two key things I want to focus on when it comes to creating your content. First up is the method you use.
The incredible thing about how the online space has evolved is that there are so many different types of methods you can use to create your content.
For example, you can use pre-recorded or live videos, you can write blog posts, or you can do a podcast.
The method is simply the channel through which you will be sharing your content. It’s important for you to have a method through which you will regularly be sharing your content so that you can nurture your clients.
Let me show you what this looks like. If we go back to The Digital Marketing Funnel, you can see that your content channel is the second piece of the funnel. This is where you will be directing your social media followers to in order for them to engage with you on a deeper level. You’re essentially inviting them to hang out with you, get to know you and your business better and there you will deliver value that will ultimately convert.
Now let’s talk about the strategy. This will help you ensure that you always and only put out content that converts.
If you’ve ever wondered what to create for your content, it’s because you don’t have a strategy in place. With a strategy you will always know what to create because you’ll be confident that it will convert for you.
Like with a social media strategy, you want to start by deciding how often you are going to post on your content channel and when. Consistency is key here again and you want to decide on how often you know you will be able to consistently show up. Decide on how often and when you will post on your content channel and write it down in your workbook.
Now, let’s talk about the content creation piece. Every single piece of content you ever put out in your business should always lead back to something you sell. It’s not always going to be a direct pitch, but it needs to give value that ties back to something you offer.
A better way to look at this is to start with what you sell in your business. Look at your business model and the offers you’ve created. Write them down in your workbook and think of all the questions, pain points, tips, strategies, results, etc. tied to each offer.
You’ve just created a content bank to pull content from. You can take all of these topics and turn them into social media posts, blogs, videos, etc.
Essentially, you want to repurpose these things and turn them into all pieces of content.
The reality is that you will always be talking about the same things in your business, over and over again because people need to hear things multiple times in order to get it and you will always have new followers who need to hear what you have to say.
Go through your workbook to create your content bank and then map out your content for the next quarter. You can follow this same exact process to map out your content every single quarter.
